Focusing on the “I” in IABC
This month’s edition of Cafe2Go, IABC’s monthly podcast, takes a look at IABC’s international growth initiatives, exploring both the issues associated with growth and expansion and a variety of means that IABC is pursuing to facilitate international growth.
One of the recent developments in this area is an agreement that IABC has signed with the Shanghai Public Relations Association to offer our acceditation program to communications professionals in China. You may have seen the news release about this agreement, which was signed in late April.
Special thanks to IABC Past Chair Warren Bickford, ABC for his work as ambassador in this endeavor, and to all those in China who helped make this happen.
Cafe2Go offers more details about this exciting new development and looks at next steps in this initiative and other plans for the association’s expansion worldwide.

Is IABC going to be formally representaed at the PR Festival (Global Alliance) in Cape Town later in May?
That seems pretty Intrnational.
“formally represented” means people there who possess IBC leadership titles, and are not local South African chapter members.
For that matter, any plans for local South African IABC people to report back on the Fetival to the rest of IABC?

Actually, yes, IABC will be “formally represented” at the event in Cape Town by both IABC President Julie Freeman, ABC, APR and by Annette Martell, our liaison to the Global Alliance.
We’ll be sure to provide an update on IABC’s participation. Thanks for asking the question.
